About Us

It’s amazing to think that I started Yabba over 25 years ago as a hobby.

The idea of making my own Caribbean pickles, sauces and preserves first began whilst taking a tour around a craft fair during a quiet moment at my mother's stall, where she was exhibiting her own range of designer clothes.

I was inspired when I saw jams, chutneys and preserves galore. However, I noticed a gap in the market for traditional Jamaican food, Jerk Seasoning, Chutneys, Hot Pepper Sauces and Caribbean Fruit Rum Cake. My journey of exploring the food market went from strength to strength by reaching the public through Farmers Markets, Craft Fairs and Food and Drink Events.

People Behind Yabba

I was born in Kingston, Jamaica and moved to England when I was seven, raised in Armthorpe, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, UK and now live in Sheffield.

A real taste of good food has always been part of my upbringing. I am very passionate about producing fine foods that everyone can enjoy. All the products featured on the website have been passed down through family generations and moulded from happy memories of my childhood and good times with the family and friends.
